CLINICAL EXERCISE AND REHABILITATION

Exercise is Medicine!

One of our main flagship services is our Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation service. We have previously referred to this as Clinical Pilates, however we recognised that what we offer is so much more than Pilates, and utilises so many different types of exercises approaches that we didn't feel calling it Pilates accurately reflected the quality of service we provided.

This is individualised, targeted exercise rehabilitation and conditioning as treatment for your pain/injury/condition. Our Rehab Physiotherapists utilise any and all exercise techniques available to them to design the optimal program for you to address your unique issues and to achieve your unique goals.

  • Reduce pain
  • Move better
  • Build strength in your muscles, joints and conective tissues
  • Build Resilience in your body
  • Long term solutions and preventative conditioning

How It Works

All our Clinical Rehab clients start with a comprehensive assessment with one of our experienced physiotherapists. These assessments are used to identify exactly what issues you are having, what your goals of Clinical Exercise are, and include a comprehensive physical assessment to identify specific limitations and deficiencies to address through your whole body. Our BodyWise approach ensures each client is working on a individualised program specificaly designed to address their needs and goals. This means better and quicker results.

Following the initial assessment, all clients will attend up to 5 one-on-one sessions with their treating Rehab Physiotherapist. These first few sessions provide highly supervised and individualised rehabilitation to ensure appropriate performance of all exercises and to continue to develop the client's ideal individualised progam.

Clients will then join in the ongoing studio sessions. We have no more than 4 clients in the studio at any one time, and you are always supervised closely by your Rehab Physiotherapist. Most people will attend for at least 12 weeks to achieve their goals, and then may continue with maintenence programs or wish to set new goals.

As with any exercise  - consistency is key, and we usually recommend attending Clinical Rehab sessions twice per week for the best (and fastest) results.

Principles of Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation

Individualised: All exercise programs are developed specific to the individual. No cookie-cutter programs or group classes here.

Targeted: Everything is designed to address your unique issues and asist with recovery/rehabilitation/conditioning for your specific goals.

Evidence-Based: Exercise intervention is one of the most evidence-based treatments we can provide. We are dedicated to providing long-term solutions to our clients pain and injuries, andthrough exercise, rehabilitation and conditioning we can make long term changes to your body and your life.

Supervised: Research has shown us that the more closely supervised and individually an exercise intervention is provided, the better the results. We believe in getting results (otherwise we are wasting your time), so by providing closely supervised exercise we know you will get results quicker.

Precision: Doing exercise is one thing, but doing it perfectly is completely different. Optimal technique and control is integral to our Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation programs.
